SHUNGITE: properties, meaning, benefits, use

The shungite is a black, amorphous rock, with a carbon content that varies between 30% and 98%, but what makes it truly unique in the world of minerals is the presence of fulerene - spherical molecular structures consisting of carbon atoms (C60 and C70). These are rare molecules, studied for their antioxidant properties, capable of neutralizing free radicals and interacting with the cellular structure at a deep level.

Roca formed in the geological basin of Lake Onega, in an oxygen-free environment, where prehistoric microorganisms could have contributed to the accumulation of organic matter that, under the pressure and heat of geological time, was transformed into shungit. Some geologists claim that shungit contains one of the oldest organic carbon forms on the planet - possible even traces of a primitive bacterial life. This hypothesis makes shungit a connection between geology and biology, between mineral land and living earth.

Its internal structure is irregular, but extraordinarily stable. It has no crystals itself, but the presence of carbon in hybridized forms (SP² and SP³) makes it resistant to degradation and extremely reactive at electromagnetic level. For this reason, Shungit is one of the few stones that can block or reduce the impact of modern electromagnetic radiation.

Shungite is manually extracted From open careers, with minimally invasive operating methods, because the material is often fragile and breaks into irregular plates. In the twentieth century, with the development of technology, the shungit returns to the attention of the researchers for its absorbent properties and the ability to neutralize the electromagnetic fields.
