Sapphire – Wisdom stone: properties, benefits and uses

Sapphire is a variety of corundum, a mineral formed from aluminum oxide, known for its exceptional hardness, occupying position 9 on the Mohs scale. It is found in alluvial deposits or in igneous and metamorphic rocks, being extracted from famous locations such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Madagascar, Australia and Thailand.

Its name comes from the Greek "sappheiros", indicating since ancient times the association with blue stone. Although the best known is blue sapphire, this stone can also have shades of yellow, pink, green and purple, each with specific energy properties.

Sapphire has always been associated with royalty, being considered a symbol of divine authority and protection against evil. 

It is said that King Solomon wore a sapphire ring that gave him wisdom and the power to see the hidden truth. 

In the Middle Ages, European kings believed that sapphire protected them from betrayal and helped them make the right decisions.

Another legend claims that the Indian and Persian emperors wore sapphires to attract the blessing of the gods and maintain the stability of their kingdoms. 

It was said that the stone could shine brighter when worn by a righteous and honest ruler, but it lost its light if it was used by someone corrupt.

In Persian mythology, sapphire was considered the stone on which the sky rested, and its deep blue color was seen as a reflection of cosmic infinity. 

Throughout history, this stone has been endowed with magical properties and has been used to bring protection, clarity, and spiritual insight.

In many ancient cultures, sapphire was considered a sacred stone, symbolizing divine power and ultimate truth. Kings and priests wore sapphires for protection and spiritual guidance, and in Eastern traditions, this stone was used to open the mind and receive profound revelations. It is said that sapphire brings good luck and clarity to those who wear it with pure intentions.
