This adamit specimen from Mexico, originating from the famous Ojuela Mine, Mapimí – Durango, is a collectible mineral piece, highly valued for its intense yellow-green colorand for its spectacular fluorescence under UV light. The Ojuela Mine is considered one of the world's most important classic localities for adamit, with specimens from here serving as reference examples for this mineral.
Adamit appears in the form of fine crystals or compact aggregates, arranged on a matrix, with a vibrant and expressive appearance. In natural light, the crystals show shades of green, yellow-green, or intense yellow, and under ultraviolet light, they stand out with a strong fluorescence, which completely transforms the specimen's appearance and makes it extremely attractive to collectors.
From a mineralogical point of view, adamite is a zinc arsenate, formed in the oxidation zones of zinc deposits. Specimens from Ojuela Mine are internationally recognized for the quality of their crystallization, saturated color, and UV reaction, being considered authentic collector specimens .
