Silver obsidian, also known as glass obsidian or mirror obsidian, is a variety of obsidian that exhibits a predominantly silver or dark gray color. It has a shiny appearance and glossy texture due to its glassy composition.

Silver obsidian is formed similarly to the other varieties of obsidian, by the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. 

Metaphysically, silver obsidian is associated with the crown chakra (chakra 7), which represents spiritual connection and higher wisdom. It is believed that silver obsidian can support mental clarity, introspection, and the release of negative energies.
