Feng Shui is an ancient art of harmony. Originally from China, its name literally means "wind and water" – two natural forces that flow, shape and sustain life. The goal of Feng Shui is to balance the invisible energy, called Chi, that flows through every corner of the home, affecting our mood, health, relationships, and prosperity.
In the modern world, this concept has penetrated beyond tradition – becoming part of interior design, environmental psychology, and personal spiritual practices. Crystals, with their natural vibration and special beauty, are today some of the most loved harmonization tools in Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is based on two main concepts: the balance between Yin and Yang and the interaction of the five elements.
🔹 Yin and Yang – the opposite and complementary forces of the universe: darkness and light, silence and activity, cold and warm.
Every space needs both in a balanced proportion: not too much silence, not too much chaos.
🔹 The five elements:
• Wood – growth, vitality, freshness (represented by plants and green crystals, such as aventurine).
• Fire – energy, passion, visibility (red or orange crystals, such as jasper or carnelian).
• Earth – stability, patience, balance (yellow, brown or beige crystals: citrine, tiger's eye).
• Metal – clarity, order, discipline (white or metallic stones: selenite, hematite).
• Water – fluidity, intuition, flow (blue or black crystals: black tourmaline, obsidian, aquamarine).
2. Types of crystals used in Feng Shui
Crystals aren't just beautiful – they act as energy regulators, supporting or dispersing energy according to the needs of the space.
🔸 Rose Quartz
Symbol of love, gentleness and emotional healing. It is placed in the corner of relationships (South-West) to support harmony in the couple or family.
🔸 Amethyst
The stone of spiritual protection, intuition and mental calm. Great for meditation and balance in the bedroom or workspaces.
🔸 Citrine
Crystal of abundance and self-confidence. It is recommended in the prosperity area (South-East), in the office or near the cash register.
🔸 Black tourmaline
Natural energy shield. It protects the space from low vibrations, electromagnetic radiation and voltages. Ideal at the entrance, next to laptops or bed.
🔸 Other valuable crystals in Feng Shui:
• Green aventurine – good luck and health.
• Red jasper – courage, stability.
• Selenite – purification and spiritual clarity.
• Obsidian – introspection, deep protection.
3. Crystals in different Feng Shui traditions and practices
Although Feng Shui has its origins in Chinese culture, the use of crystals is found in many other traditions:
• In classical Feng Shui, crystals are considered "remedies" – that is, objects that correct energy imbalances in a space.
• In Ayurveda, crystals are associated with chakras and used to harmonize the body's energy.
• In Reiki, they are used in energy healing sessions, placed on or around the body.
Nowadays, many people integrate crystals in an intuitive way, choosing them for their design, color or personal vibration – a valid approach, as long as there is respect for the energy they bring.
4. Feng Shui objects and their meaning
Feng Shui is not only based on crystals – but also on symbolic objects, called remedies, activators or amulets.
Differences:
• Amulets – they are worn on you, for personal protection.
• Symbols – sacred or archetypal objects, placed to attract a certain energy (e.g. dragon, phoenix).
• your intuition – because sometimes space "tells" you what it needs.
5. Feng Shui objects that bring good luck and money
In Feng Shui, prosperity is not just about money – it's about the free flow of sustaining energy.
Popular Symbols:
• The three-legged frog (Chan Chu) – with a coin in his mouth, he brings winnings. It is placed towards the inside of the house, not towards the door.
• The money tree (jade tree) – symbol of the slow and sure growth of wealth.
• Gold nuggets and Chinese coins – often placed on a platter or in Feng Shui vessels, in the money corner (Southeast).
• Pagoda – protects the career and supports professional development.
6. Feng Shui amulets and remedies for health
A healthy space supports a healthy body.
• Health crystals: transparent quartz, green aventurine, jadeite.
• Amulets of protection: Wu Lou (vessel of life), lucky bamboo, crystal sphere for purification.
• Positioning of the bed: it must allow visibility of the door, but without being aligned with it.
• Avoid large mirrors in front of the bed, they can disrupt resting energy.
• Plants – they bring life, but they must be maintained. Dead or wilted plants block positive energy.
7. Feng Shui symbols for good luck and protection
Luck, in Feng Shui, is a consequence of harmony, not a whim of fate.
Common symbols:
• The Dragon – protective force and leader of the fire element. It brings success and recognition.
• The phoenix – rebirth, hope, renewal.
• White tiger – protection and courage.
• Wind chimes – cleanse energy and attract balance. Choose an odd number of bells, metal or bamboo.
• Bagua mirror – used only externally, to reflect aggressive energy (e.g. an electric column or a roof facing your door).
8. Feng Shui for every room
A harmonious space is intentionally built in every room:
• The living room – the social center. Place crystals for communication (blue chalcedony) or for general protection (amethyst).
• Cooking – supports health. Keep a jade stone or clear quartz sphere there for food balance.
• The bedroom – for rest and harmonious relationships. Rose quartz and amethyst are ideal. No large mirrors or sharp objects.
• The bathroom – represents energy losses. Keep a black tourmaline on the washing machine or near the drain and keep the door closed.
Feng Shui crystals and objects are more than just decorations – they become subtle tools of inner balance, when used consciously.
Whether you choose to follow traditional principles or create your own intuitive ritual, the important thing is to step into a space that supports, soothes and inspires you every day.
The harmony of the house becomes, in the end, the mirror of the harmony in your soul.
