Formed in the heart of the Brandberg Mountains in the western Namibia, this specimen of smoky quartz is the result of millions of years of deep geological processes. Brandberg is an isolated granite massif, raised during the magmatic activities in the Jurassic era, where the silicon -rich hydrothermal solutions filled the rock cracks, giving rise to spectacular quartz crystals.
The smoky quartz in this area is particularly appreciated for its natural clarity, the hot translucent brown shades, and the perfectly developed shapes in the trigonal system. Some crystals have double terminations, scepts or fascinating inclusions - from hydrothermal vapors and mobile bubbles, to traces of hematite or rutile. The natural presence of radiation from the surrounding rocks during the formation of the crystal confers this authentic smoke, without thermal treatments or human interventions.
The specimen is manually collected, directly from hard -to -reach areas of the massif, and the lack of industrial exploitation makes each piece really rare. This combination between the unique geological origin and the gross aesthetics transforms the smoky quartz in Brandberg into a collection crystal sought by minerals, geologists and enthusiasts of the authentic.
