The Fairy Stone, also known as Menalite, Menilite or Fairy Stone, is a natural sedimentary formation with rounded, nodular and sometimes surprisingly sculptural forms. Menalite appears in the form of opaline concretions, developed in sediments such as marls, clays, gypsum or shales. Its organic forms are the result of natural geological processes and not of processing. The specimens from Morocco are particularly well known commercially, but menilitis was originally described at Ménilmontant in France and is also known from Spain.
