Scolecite is a natural mineral from the zeolite group,valued for its thin, elongated white or colorless crystals, which can form spectacular radial aggregates. It is a hydrated calcium aluminosilicate and forms especially in the cavities of volcanic rocks, where it can appear alongside other zeolites, apophyllite, and calcite. The best-known specimens for collectors come from India, especially from Maharashtra and the Deccan Traps region,but scolecite is also found in Iceland, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
In contemporary crystal therapy, scolecite is associated with inner peace, calm, intuition, spiritual openness, and meditation.Due to its white appearance and radial structure, it is symbolically associated particularly with the third eye chakra and the crown chakra,being used in practices oriented toward calming the mind and introspection.
