Nifontovite is one rare collectible natural mineral, prized for its transparent to translucent crystals, usually colorless or very light gray, with a glassy luster. Mineralogically, it is a hydrated calcium borate, which crystallizes in monoclinic system. The specimens from Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, are particularly prized by collectors for their well-developed, transparent crystals with distinct terminations. Nifontovite is documented in this region including at the Rey y Reina and San Bartolo mines.
In contemporary crystal therapy, nifontovite is a rare stone and it does not have an established or sufficiently well-documented system of spiritual properties. For this reason, we prefer to present it primarily for its mineralogical and collectible value, without ascribing specific energetic properties to it that cannot be consistently supported.
