About Azurite-Malachite

Azurite-Malachite is a spectacular natural mineral association, formed by the co-occurrence of two copper minerals: the azurite, recognized for its intense shades of blue, and the malachite, characterized by its green tones.

The combination of the two minerals creates remarkable chromatic contrasts, ranging from azure blue and navy to intense green. The distribution of colors, lines, spots, and inclusions varies from one formation to another and represents natural characteristics of the mineral.

Azurite has the chemical formula Cu₃(CO₃)₂(OH)₂, while malachite has Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂. Both are secondary copper minerals and can form in the oxidation zones of copper deposits.
