About lapis lazuli
Lapis lazuli is an ornamental rock composed mainly of lazurite, along with calcite and, frequently, pyrite inclusions. It is valued for its deep blue color, which can be complemented by whitish areas of calcite and small golden reflections of pyrite. It has a hardness of about 5–5.5 on the Mohs scale.
