Pink Tourmaline is a variety of tourmaline valued for its delicate shades, from pale pink and peach-pink to intense pink and red-pink. Varieties with an intense reddish-pink color are also known as rubellite.
Tourmaline belongs to a complex group of borosilicate minerals and crystallizes in the trigonal system. Its crystals are often elongated and have characteristic longitudinal striations, and the color can be uniform or distributed in distinct zones within the same crystal.
Depending on the specimen, pink tourmaline can be transparent, translucent, or opaque and may exhibit inclusions, internal fractures, and natural color variationsthat reflect the conditions in which the mineral formed.
