The ruby in fuchsit is a spectacular natural association between ruby, the red variety of corundum, and fuchsit, a variety of mica rich in chromium. The contrast between the pink-red ruby crystals and the green matrix of fuchsite gives each specimen a unique appearance.
The ruby it is made up of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and its red color is mainly determined by the presence chrome. Fuchsit is a green variety of muscovite, its color also being associated with the presence of chromium in the mineral structure.
Grinding in the form of sphere highlights the natural distribution of the ruby in the matrix as well as the variations of green, white, pink and red present in the stone.
