Shattuckite is a rare copper mineral, recognized for its intense shades of blue, turquoise, and green. These fascinating colors come from the presence of copper ions (Cu²⁺), which give the mineral vibrant and lively reflections. Green often appears in association with malachite or chrysocolla, creating spectacular patterns. It has a silky to glassy luster and a hardness of 3.5 on the Mohs scale. It was discovered in the Shattuck mine in Arizona but is also found in Namibia, Congo, and other copper-rich regions.
