The silver obsidian, also known as a glass or obsidian mirror obsidian, is a variety of obsidian that has a predominantly silver or dark gray color. It has a bright appearance and a glossy texture due to its glass composition.

The silver obsidian is formed in a similar way to the other varieties of obsidian, by rapid cooling of the volcanic lava.
